It looks like the last of winter is over and spring is finally in our grasp, and you know what that means? Summertime fun in the 6six, ending with the biggest party in North America – Toronto Caribbean Carnival also known as Caribana. Every year the event gets bigger and bigger, and this year Caribana Toronto will be the premier source for everything carnival related.

In the coming weeks, we will be covering the band launches from some of the biggest players including Mas-K by Saldenah, the Toronto Revellers and last year’s band of the year Carnival Nationz…plus many more. Some of the themes have already been announced and we are just as excited as you to see colour presentations that represent Broadway, musical master Machel Montano and the essence of the Pan Am games to be hosted alongside carnival in Toronto this summer.

The end of carnival in Trinidad has crowned some old favourites and some new players in the soca game, and we will make sure to keep you up to date on the hottest music and events as we begin the countdown. Carnival tabanca is real, and with the end of carnival in Trinidad just a few weeks ago, we are here to fill the gap!

Stay tuned to the blog for upcoming events, music artist profiles and much more! We can’t wait to celebrate Toronto’s biggest street party with you, share your favourite Toronto carnival moments in the comments, and let’s keep the tabanca at bay until July – with the official launch of Carnival in Toronto!
