The TD Irie Music Festival is an annual event that takes place over three weekends throughout the summer in the GTA. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the festval is a multi-day, family friendly festival. The annual event is a celebration of all music from the islands from Reggae to Salsa, Soul to African. It will also feature dance performances from the African Diaspora, as well as a spoken word show, visual arts exhibition, delicious tropical food & drinks and many more exhibitors and surprise performances.
The first edition of the festival is this weekend (July 13th & 14th) in Mississauga at Celebration Square near Square One. Over the course of the weekend there will be performances by local artists such as Nu Evolution Band, Belinda Brady, Ammoye, Etana and will end with the headliner Mr. Differentology, Bunji Garland.
The next two weekends will be June 20th & 21st at Memorial Park in Oshawa. Performances slated for that day include reggae superstar Wayne Wonder and Kerwin Dubois; and the final edition, downtown from August 2nd to August 5th at Nathan Phillips Square. Performers at the final event will include Masia One, Half Pint, Richie Stevens and rising local star Shi Wisdom.
All three weekends will have Canada’s number one soca sound crew on the ones and two’s, D’Enforcas!
